Building Out a New Garage or Home Gym?

When building a home gym set-up, there is no one size fits all approach. A variety of factors will dictate what pieces of gear should be first added to your repertoire.  The goal of this article is to guide you in the right direction based on your personal budget, space limitations, training goals and fitness experience.

Every gym set-up starts with a solid foundation. Depending on the type of training you are doing, it is extremely important to line your floors with a material which is both comfortable and absorbs shock. When dropping barbells, dumbbells or any other weighted implement, the TYDAX Rubber Floor Mats protect your floor while increasing the lifespan of your equipment. On top of those things, their rubber nature provides the grip necessary to safely perform a wide range of movements whether that’s Olympic lifting, Power lifting, Bodybuilding or even just performing a simple burpee.

There are plenty of options when it comes to what weight options you will go with. TYDAX offers a wide range of products from Barbells and Bumpers to Dumbbells, Kettlebells, Dead Balls and the Functional Trainer. The right option for you depends primarily on your goals and the type of training you intend on doing. While the barbell and bumper combination is a staple in many training methodologies, Kettlebells and Dumbbells can be extremely versatile and valuable training tools. If you are new to training and concerned about training on your own with free weights, the all new TYDAX Functional Trainer and Half Rack-Smith machine allows for major strength gains to be made without the downfalls of free weight training.

If you plan of doing any type of squatting or gymnastics movements from a pull-up bar, you will need some sort of rack or rig to support that. If space is a concern the TYDAX Wall Mount Fold Back Rig takes up virtually no space while providing the functionality of both a pull-up bar and squat rack. Our Beast Squat Stand provides both of these things as well and can be moved around your gym space. If you don’t have the ceiling height, our Beast Shorty Squat Stand can accommodate even the lowest ceilings. Looking for something bigger? Our Half Rack, Beast 36 and Beast 49 power rack can facilitate all your lifting needs and are over-built to last.

Sometimes Burpees just don’t cut it anymore when you are looking get an intense cardio workout in. The TYDAX Air Bike will bring your commercial, home, or garage gym to the next level.
